Christmas Blessings

Day 71 – #100HappyDay Challenge

16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

As Christmas Day fades into evening, presents unwrapped, dinner leftovers all put away, a quiet, peaceful lethargy settles over my little home.

Lighting candles, I send prayers and blessings to you, my family, friends, and the greater collective. I pray that love finds you no matter where you’re at.

I hear giggles. My girls are upstairs. Having them here with me is the best present I could have asked for. I admire their handiwork on the table as I straighten up. My daughter and granddaughter LOVE legos. Santa brought them Beauty and the Beast which took the afternoon to build.

I had planned to set a pretty table but the day unfolded with other plans. We pulled out a small table, sitting on the floor in front of the tree. I think this has been my most favorite Christmas dinner ever sitting on the floor with my family eating maple glazed turkey and sweet potato.

Here are favorite bits of our 2017 Christmas:

  • Roxi getting kissed by her new Fingerling, the little toy I had bought on a whim, which was a bigger hit than I had expected.
  • Opening my stocking narrated by my granddaughter, her eyes lighting up with each gift I pulled out.
  • Just being with my girls, indulging in the day, cherishing these precious minutes that will soon disappear into memories.

Merry Christmas!
