A Day Spent with A Girlfriend is A Day Well Spent – Exploring Houston

Day 96 – #100HappyDay Challenge

Today was spent exploring bits of Houston with my wonderful girlfriend. I always have the best time when we get together and what better way to spend a rainy day?

We started the day off at Snooze in City Center. It was even busier than the one in Katy, if you can believe that. But for folks who don’t mind a bit of rain they had outdoor seating. We sat inside.

From there we took a drive and meandered toward The Village.  Susie explained that Rice Village is one of  Houston’s oldest shopping destinations with tons of restaurants, bars, and shopping.  She grew up in Houston and is the best tour guide with gads if tips of where to go.

The ecletic mix of old and new reminded me of an old world walkable community – almost like being in Europe. We stumbled onto a little French Boutique, La Taste with stunning imported pottery from France. Stepping into the shop I felt instantly transported back to France. It took a lot of will power to walk away from the dishware.

It was such a great day exploring shops and seeing different sections of the city. Like Susie said, The Village is a place you can lose yourself in for an afternoon. I plan on trying that someday soon.

We ended the afternoon at Cornelius Nursery. Another favorite place I will be returning to. The rows and rows of flowers invited us to ooo and awe over every blossom and bud.

Sending you love and happiness!

    1. Snooze has quite a following here… lines out the door. What I’ve seen (and eaten) at Snooze has been mouth-watering delicious! You should go. I highly recommended the pineapple pancakes, a Bloody Mary and a side of bacon because we all need a side of bacon in our lives once in awhile. Cheers! ❤️
