Pairs of pretty shoes grace my bedroom and closet. The prolific pairs sit gracefully, like stunning artwork, decorating my home in beautiful colors and shapes. Beautiful shapes, heights and comfort level wait patiently to be worn.
I have shoes in boxes waiting to be pulled out for just the right occasion. Running shoes sit next to sandals which sit next to boots that I rarely wear any more in the warmer climate. But my boots, some worn and edged, have been a favorite for years, protecting me from cold, snowy streets. I can almost hear their mournful whispers from neglect.
I’m sure when the lights are out you can hear the collection of shoes chattering from their perches about all the places they have tread and the floors they have danced on. Each pair a story, trying to outshine the other, partaking in a bit of banter just waiting for the next time they will hit the streets.
