Day 84 – #100HappyDay Challenge
The best part of today was making breakfast for my son. It wasn’t anything special; egg and sausage scramble with a croissant. But the act of caring for people I love makes me happy.
Then the not-so-happy part of taking them to the airport, saying goodbye, and coming home to a super-empty-house came too soon. My heart hurts.
I turn on a podcast, not really paying attention, letting the background noise sooth me, while I jump online and work. I sink into my emails, trying to bury myself in distraction, but the ache never quite goes away.
And it won’t.
At least not today.
I’m getting use to the ebb and flow of loneliness. I know that it will take a few days before I find my groove again being alone.
But for now it is what it is.
Sending you a happiness.
